When it comes to choosing what to eat, it's important to be aware of the nutritional content of the foods you consume. Many packaged products claim to be healthy and convenient, but they often are not what they seem. So we are here to help you out!
What is wrong?
Most packaged products are processed and contain additives that can be harmful to your health. Even worse, just the original ingredients that are seemingly healthy are not because of the way they are processed. Not everything is better with time. Over time, food companies have continued to increase the amount of CRAP that is in our food.
Reading labels and ingredients
One way to advocate for your health is to carefully read the labels and ingredients of packaged products. Avoid added sugars, ingredients you cannot pronounce, enriched flours and seed/vegetable oils. While I know this is not completely avoidable for most of us, there are lots of awesome options that have come out. And thanks to RFK Jr. I hope we are on a path to even more healthy options.
Making informed choices
By being mindful of what you eat and choosing whole, unprocessed foods whenever possible, you can take control of your health. Opt for fresh organic fruits and vegetables, organic proteins, whole grains, and healthy fats. Choosing local options from reputable farmers is always your best option for maximum healthy nutrients.
Advocating for yourself when it comes to food choices is not just about your own health, but also the health of future generations. By making informed decisions and supporting companies that prioritize health and sustainability, you can help create a healthier food environment for everyone.
And when you feel completely lost
Remember that I am here for your questions about your health! I chose this path to help people learn and navigate the craziness that is the world of nutrition. With all the information thrown out there, it's important to know what's right and wrong. It's easy to just say screw it and go with what you know, but that's why I am here. To help you determine the best path forward for a healthy lifestyle!
